Case Study: Dubai Ports (DP) World London Gateway Rail Terminal

  • Signalling Location Cases
  • Functional Supply Points (FSP)
  • Hand Point Panels
Hand Point Panel for DP World

The Challenge

DP World’s London Gateway is a sustainable integrated logistics hub; strategically located, trade enabling centre of excellence on the River Thames. Due to expansion within the port, DP World needed to increase the number of trains per hour between the Rail Terminal and the International Rail Freight Gateways being constructed around the country.

DP World engaged Engineering Integration (EI) to manage the expansion the rail network in their port facilities at Stanford-Le-Hope on the banks of the river Thames to accommodate these additional trains.

The Solution

RSP were contracted to supply three new sets of Signalling Location Cases & Functional Supply Points and four Hand Point Panels for the port expansion.

In collaboration with EI and Reznet Rail, RSP manufactured three FSP’s and four signalling locations, advising on the shift from a Class I installation to a Class I/II hybrid solution, utilising their approved range of Class II products.

Throughout the build, RSP’s team of IRSE licenced engineers, installers and testers worked collaboratively with EI and Reznet to engineer a cost-effective solution whilst meeting the programme on time and within budget.
